it is the main narrative on the media. You can't turn on TV without hearing "Oh, the deficit is killing us! It's all entitlements and people that won't work!"

Anyway, if that's how people really are, then only a return to the Fairness Doctrine -- which MANY here at DU oppose -- or a law stating that lying in the media is the equivalent of perjury -- which even MORE here seem to be against -- can possibly save us.

If the average American can't recognize a lie and we can't stop the right from lying ...

can't recognize a lie because the lie has been pounded into them thousands of times. It is the media. The media was one-sided under Bush. I am shocked at how more one-sided it has become since Bush.
