The unemployment extension drama continues with words of anger and desperation from those that are unemployed. Rather than penning a lengthy article about the state of our unemployed, let’s just listen to what some of them are saying.
Following are excerpted comments by some of our readers of the Daily News.
A reader from Texas says, “I’m from Texas I’ve used up my Emergency Unemployment benefits on my 3rd Tier, is this extension add another tier, I’ve been looking for work everyday i don’ t know where else to look, a lot of people say we don’t want to work because there is work. locally the only jobs there might be if your lucky enough to see is the help wanted sign for a cook in a local gas station. I held a 3.99 GPA in school i tried so hard just to be left out cold of a job”.
Another reader says, “The deadlock has got to stop. Reid and the Democrats must act to compromise or go along with the Republicans. People are hungry, no housing and lost. Their is no excuse for the Senate behavior. I have no more faith in these people at all. It is cruel and disgusting and selfish what they are doing. I need the money to live while I am looking and looking hard.
How cruel and narrow minded can people be”.
Yet another reader says, “Next election – let Congress feel the sting of the unemployment lines!!! No more raping and pillaging the middle class!!! – How many years have you paid taxes? 30? 40? Your government bails out bankers and Wall Street execs using your tax dollars – but unemployment is allowed to expire? What happened to “by the people” or “for the people”? Or are the big campaign contributors the only “people” who count to congress? They are playing games AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME while you are wondering how to feed your kids? Figure it out! Malfeasance – Failure of a public official to perform their duties!!! Next Election MAKE YOURSELF MATTER BY VOTING!!! 10% unemployment carries 10% of the vote! Use it!! Fire them all next election or recall every Congress member NOW for Malfeasance”
