Opposition to changing DADT shows Blunt unfit to be senator

In announcing his opposition to the repeal of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy, Roy Blunt has highlighted yet another reason why he is unfit to be a United States Senator. Neither Blunt, nor Missouri State Sen. Purgason, who chimed in with similar views, has served a day in the armed services. Yet they pontificate about "social engineering" and a struggle against "radical jihadists" at a time when we sorely need every person who is willing to serve and whose counterparts have served honorably for years.

I have served with gay shipmates both ashore and aboard ship and never observed any unusual problems relating to their sexuality. Both politicians are obviously pandering to what they perceive as the views of their ultra right-wing base. Neither deserve re-election.
