A president who has kept his word

Shortly after 9/11, President George W. Bush laid out a plan to take the fight to the terrorists. We swiftly entered Afghanistan and demolished the Taliban and the terror camps. Americans and the world cheered our efforts. Eighteen months later we entered Iraq with some of the same goals – regime change that would eliminate a threat to the United States, removing one member of the Axis of Evil and pursuing a supporter of terror, just as he promised. Two and a half years ago we all cheered his plan and gave him our support.

What happened? It seems Americans have been listening to the press, the political opposition and world opinion, not to their president. The difference now is that politics has restrained his actions. We have forgotten that this is a war on terror. We have forgotten that in war people die. We have forgotten the difference between abuse and humiliation. We have forgotten that the terrorists still want to kill us. And we have forgotten the fallen victims of 9/11.



We are poised to throw this guy out of office. For what? Telling the truth and honoring his commitment? What a novel thought – a politician doing what he promised, like President Bush.

I am proud of America, the president and our troops. For generations American blood has been shed so that you and I can live in freedom. Freedom comes at great sacrifice, but in this case the sacrificial lamb is President Bush.

The sacrificial lambs are the 800 Americans who were sent to their death in an immoral war.

The sacrificial lambs are the close to 5,000 US troops who have lost limbs in a war based on lies.

The sacrificial lambs are the innocent people in Iraq , which the US administration doesn't count, who have died and been maimed by a war of choice, just because they happen to live in Iraq.

Bush is not the sacrificial lamb..........he is the one who led us into an immoral, unjust war based on lies. He is the one leading the slaughter. He is the one with blood on his hands.

The guy has 1-2 press conferences a year, stumbles through his 5-minute press briefings, and recites his 9th-grade level drivel from teleprompters during the "big" speeches once or twice a year.
