Paedophile priest will go to hell apparently
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/may/30/vatican-paedophile-priests-punishment-catholicism

The vatican has apparently heard from god that the paedophile priests will go to hell, this is presumably to make up for their not being punished on earth. Glad to know we dont need to worry anymore.

2. "he also suggested that priests who covered up abuse by colleagues would face the fires of hell"

Two questions:

Does that include the current pope?

How hot?

3. They may go to hell in the afterlife, but they'll just go to another church

5. I am more concerned with what happens to them here
If we need to wait for god to punish them then they need to produce god so we can witness him sending them to hell

If they can not then the church needs to excommunicate them and then we will send them to prison.

And what is he talking about putting a millstone around their neck and throwing them into the water. Isn't that killing and we all know how the church hates to see anyone killed, or is killing okay when they decide to do it??

6. Im guessing it was rhetoric
You have the right idea though. What god may or may not do is out of our control, and I am more concerned with justice that I can see and verify for myself than some wishful justice in the afterlife dream. As for the millstone, I would be satisfied with just turning them into the police and letting them suffer the law that anyone else must suffer.

10. What was I thinking
Perhaps they are just witches and warlocks and the church should just burn them at the stake to rid them of the devil.

7. Is that in lieu of going to jail?
Since hell isn't a sure fire thing, I'm not impressed.

9. How about the Charles Bronson approach?
CB: "Do you love Jesus?"

Bad guy: "Yes."

CB: "Good. You're about to meet him."

BANG...

12. Never understood that
Well, I guess I understand it in a power building sense, but certainly not in any kind of moral sense.
