Bush battered by abuse photos

BBC correspondent in Washington

The latest images of US soldiers apparently maltreating Iraqi prisoners look horribly familiar.
They show US soldiers apparently beating, sexually humiliating or terrorising Iraqi prisoners and include for the first time video footage.
There are more photos and videos to come and some politicians are urging the Pentagon to immediately make all the images it has public, to avoid allowing this scandal to drag on.
Even without the prisoner abuse, there has been bad news from Iraq on all fronts for the Bush administration.

Of course, violent metaphors and analogies are so idiomatic nowadays that maybe the headline writer didn't realize....
