Ignoble Liars: Leo Strauss, George Bush, and the philosophy of
mass deception is Earl Shorris's article in the June Harper's. Here's a revealing quote from Strauss: "It would be absurd to hamper the free flow of wisdom by any regulations; hence the rule of the wise must be absolute rule. It would be equally absurd to hamper the free flow of wisdom by consideration of the unwise wishes of the unwise; hence the wise rulers ought not to be responsible to the unwise subjects."
3. A few things Good ole Leo didn't account for...
The educated people who are going to oppose this within the country. The fact that a few people say around 50 million who are repuke cannot influence the entire world. And finally the biggest monkey wrench in the regulation of absolute rule the digital camera.
Let's face it, the people who studied under Leo aren't smartest of the crop. Remember when Wolfie was asked how many combat deaths occurred in Iraq? This is our "Assistant Secretary of Defense". What a bunch of pseudo-intellectual morans.
5. The rights own thinking is what's doing them in.
This morning some woman caller to C-Span was ranting about the Democrats trying to bring down Bush. All I could think of was the fact that Bush has brought his own self down. Dems don't have to do a thing but watch from the sidelines.
