VIDEO: Howard Dean on HCR on Countdown
Dean: Keep on fighting for real reform, vote no on Senate bill

by Jed Lewison

Howard Dean on Countdown just now, making a clear and compelling case for saying no to the Lieberman-wrecked Senate bill.

Dean's two central points: (1) Saying it's "now or never" on health care reform presents a false dichotomy. Our health care system is in crisis, he says. We need to fix it now, it won't be another twenty years before we get the chance if the Senate bill fails. (2) The Senate bill fails to reform the system; indeed, it expands the current system which is already failing because it is too expensive.

Dean's bottom line: Don't give up on the fight for real reform. Say no to the Senate bill, and get something real done.

2. They can charge us more if we have preexisting conditions.
I wish they would listen to Dean.

3. They don't care, it's that simple. They will give the ICs whatever they want and we will get
our poverty tax. I suppose we could give up food to balance a mandate ravaged budget, but most people I know are addicted to food.

I can't afford anything our insurance overlords offer that doesn't come with a deductable I will never have the money to cover.

So my choice will be to take the poverty tax or hope the taxpayers can cover all but maybe $100 (I will have to give up lunch and cable to come up with that). Even if they do cover that much (they won't as their idea of poverty a dog couldn't live on) all that means is I will have a defective product I can't possibly afford to use that most likely will refuse to cover an illness that costs any real money.

I am so not alone in this! All I hear from dems is proudly how they will cover 30,000 people with this "good bill".
WRONG!!!! They will FORCE 30,000 people to buy something they can't afford and fine them for being poor!
How the fuck is that "a good bill with a lot of good stuff in it" Even the ones I used to like are parroting that bullshit as if to prove they think we are stupid.

Fuck them all.
