Russia extends death penalty ban
http://english.aljazeera.net/news/europe/2009/11/200911191311439887.html

A Russian court has effectively outlawed the death penalty in the country, ruling that a moratorium on capital punishment due to expire in January must remain in force.

1. Even Russia does, but the U.S. continues its barbarism. Amazing. nt

3. Now, now...
...why don't you ask any of the Chechnyans still alive what they think about this? Somehow, I don't think they're too reassured... it's window dressing on the part of the Russians, and you filled in the blank that they wanted filled in, namely, that this somehow makes them morally superior to the Americans. Yeah, go to Grozny and tell them that there's a ban on the death penalty in Russia now, so all their young men can come out from hiding, those of them who are left, anyway. Come on out guys, and line up against that wall over there so we can, uh, process you out.

4. If what the Checknyans are doing happened here, they would be surrounded by military
For example, if Texans did that. The state would be surrounded by military. That would happen anywhere. And we know this. Segments of countries seeking independence are an issue in many countries, from Ireland, to Spain, to countless countries. In Spain, do some research on the Basques.
