Report: Ill. prison deal could create 3,000 jobs
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A deal to house Guantanamo Bay detainees at a northwestern Illinois prison could bring nearly 3,000 jobs to the area, a White House analysis says.

1. Thomson Prison
Which the state of Illinois totally fucked up to begin with. Now they want to sell it to the Feds and house alleged terrorists in the prison. Go for it.
I live about 50 miles from this prison site. And you know what? I ain't skeered. The repubs tell me I should be though. If you'd like more info go to www.qctimes.com and look around. There are almost daily stories on this issue.

3. oh my god..they`ll house boat down the river and attack the armory!
the republican newspaper over here ran three polls about the prison.they ran three because each one favored the prison.they could`t get a majority against the prison! it`s big time politics over here and the rethugs are getting there asses handed to them.

thompson is in fitzgerald`s federal district....

I mean, job creation is good, but creating a bunch of prison guards? Is that where we want to go?

4. well thompson`s and the surrounding area is based on--
hunting,fishing,and melon growing. planning for the prison to be opened, people invested tens of thousands of dollars into business and now they are hoping to recover their investments.

5. Wish I could remember who said it, - a candidate for governor in Iowa
several years back nailed the coming economy with this line:
"Prisons and casinos are a hell of a thing to build an economy on."

6. They Could Hire Me
I would be happy to move out of Michigan and to Illinois for a CORRECTIONAL OFFICER....not Prison Guard job. I did this job in the past and it would get me off of unemployment.
