This outburst of vituperation from message boards and bloggers is, of course, traceable to Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist and American Muslim accused of shooting 13 people dead and wounding 29 others in a rampage last week at Fort Hood, Texas. At this writing, we know next to nothing of why he did it.

Maybe he was a stone cold psychopath like Eric Harris who, with Dylan Klebold, shot up Columbine High in 1999.

Maybe he was deranged and delusional like Seung-Hui Cho, who killed 32 people and himself at Virginia Tech in 2007.

Maybe he was driven by a grudge against the federal government like Timothy McVeigh, who blew up a federal building in 1995.

Maybe he was a terrorist.

1. But Muslims, like any minority in America really, are always forced to stand trial....

..... for the bad things that people who happen to belong to their race/religion/ethnicity/sexual orientation etc. do.

2. I was reading someplace out in net land that the wing nuts latest spin on

the Ft. Hood killer being Muslim is why are Muslims allowed in the military, after all FDR didn't allow Japanese or Germans to serve in WW2. But then again these nit wits also said Hitler was a liberal Commie, Hitlers party was after all the National Socialists so that proves Hitler was a left wing type.

3. Of course, Japanese-Americans and German-Americans did serve

in the US armed forces in WWII.

But what does history ever have to do with their ranting?
