Cato Institute "We should double or triple the H1B visa cap"

Daniel Griswold, a policy scholar at The Cato Institute, said tight restrictions on work visas for skilled professionals are among the "most glaring problems" of the current immigration system.

Griswold also argued for "a robust temporary worker program." Despite the recession, Griswold said, the number of Americans willing to accept low-skill jobs is in decline.

"We should double or triple the H1B visa cap so that firms can hire the workers they need to retain their production in the United States," Griswold said. H1B is a non-immigrant visa which allows American companies to employ foreign workers temporarily.

(of course, the largest users of H-1b are Indian Outsourcers - does Griswold know that? Of course he does. He knows what he is saying is a lie. All propagandists do))

a lot of people think 'they wouldnt raise this in a depression'

uh, yeah, they would

there is a full time network of organizations, that does nothing but propagandize and lobby for more H-1b

it's doesnt stop crushing the American worker any more than the Terminator stops looking for Sara Conner

There is no level of unemployment, or amount of fraud revealed in the program, that would make them stop pushing to increase it

These people work full time, they have a very simple job description -> 'raise H-1b' that's it.

It's all they do

4. Why do I think Daniel Griswold is pushing this policy to enrich big corporations,

and not assist the gap between low paying jobs and the Americans who won't work them? On the news last night, A temp. halloween co. said this year was the easiest year they had to hire workers to fill orders for halloween costumes... They had accountants, school teachers among them working this "low-skill" job just to get by.

9. I'm wondering if we can outsource conservative
punditry to English speaking places. We could get obstinate lying done for a bargain price.

11. Would English speaking necessarily be a requirement to do this?
Could we not just outsource the punditry and then also use outsourced translators? It would mean more jobs for folks (just not here).
