Appeasement: Should we strike a deal?
When Spain announced it would pull its troops out of Iraq, it was accused of rewarding terrorism. But in an unjust war, there is no virtue in stoical resolution. By John Gray

1. Don't appease, don't negotiate with terrorists
Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 07:17 PM by Martin Eden
In the immortal words of Spike Lee, just DO THE RIGHT THING

The worst thing you could do is "stay the course" in some misguided reverse-psychology reaction to what the terrorists do or say. This is an abdication of decision-making and plays right into their hands.

This is a war of world views and hearts&minds, and it is a war we're losing because of false virtues and tough-minded (thick-headed) staying the course.

Wise leadership rises above that level of strategic non-thinking, but Washington is populated by fools.

2. Appeasement my ass.
Find OBL and either incarcerate or murder him. There is no middle ground.

In the meantime, dont elect dyslexic overr-religious fools like Chimpy McShrub who feel that God told them to strike Bablyon.

We need to pick out battles. There's no sense in stretching ourselves to o thin

3. This is a brilliant article!
At least it seems brilliant relatively speaking with all the morons posing as experts in the government.

Here's a no brainer:

<The truth is that force alone cannot end terrorist violence. Conventional military operations are useless, as the chief problem in counter-terrorism is identifying and apprehending the terrorist: essentially a type of police work that depends heavily on information gathered from the broader community. >

Gray's analysis is superior to Biden's and Kerry's. Rumdum, Chechny and Chimp don't do analysis.
