Some terrorists allowed to forgo the water board (Stevenson | Tuscaloosa News)

<Tommy Stevenson>

... I’m talking about Scott Roeder, of course, who is charged with the murder of George Tiller, a doctor who performed late term abortions in Wichita, Kansas, and who is now in custody, where he has reportedly said that he has knowledge of other plots to kill “abortion doctors.”

Isn’t that exactly what people mean when they invoked the “ticking time bomb?” And isn’t what Roeder, who has a history of abortion clinic attacks, knows prima facie evidence of terrorism, albeit of the domestic kind?

Yet there have been no serious calls from anywhere that Roeder be subjected to “enhanced interrogation techniques.” Dick Cheney has not shown up in Kansas with his water board in hand ...

A case can be made that Roeder, if guilty, is not only a terrorist but part of a larger terrorist movement that had harassed and even killed doctors, nurses and innocent bystanders over the years, including in Birmingham ...
