If knowledge is power then to be without knowledge is to be powerless. However, in modern America to be armed with incorrect knowledge is to be less than powerless. So what would you call a Fox viewer?

The Fox Nation Website asks, “Do You Believe in Man Made Global Warming?”

Of course we get the usual answers from the bloggers.
“God is real and everlasting, man made global warming is not!
Gore@NBC will make trillios of $$$$$$$$$$.
Global warming?All gore already invented a life vest for the polar bear. Would you like to buy one and save a bear from drowning?

"I think it is a real tragedy how our children now go to school and hear about how hazardous the human race is to the environment. They end up feeling guilty about being alive. What could THEY possibly be doing? If we ARE doing things that hurt this valuable home that God gave us to be stewards of then give me some REAL ways that I can make a change otherwise, don't you think that just maybe the Earth goes through some natural changes. Here's an example "Save the Dinosaurs"!!! Things shift and change all the time unfortunately species do go extinct but PLEASE stop making me feel bad about my own existence

Man-made GW is a money making scam that started with Gore, and the kool-aid left slurped it up like crazy!! Somehow I doubt it. BTW- PLEASE send some of your global warmimg my way. 44 degrees this morning in the mid-west. hmmmm I think I will start my SUV, let it run for a while, maybe that will heat us up!!

Their agreed-upon answer is no, global warming was made up by enemies of the people to rob them or to place them under a one-world government. But after 582 comments you get the feeling that there is something very wrong here, that average people couldn’t be that stupid by accident. There is a lack of critical thinking that is steeped in partisanship; this is the damage done by the mainstream, corporate news media.

The Bloomberg website on Sunday had posted a story that anticipated higher retail sales based on canceled car dealers slashing prices to clear their inventory. These Pollyannas anticipated future good news and published it as news. Then, when it failed to actually happen, it dropped from their website down the memory hole. CBS, the only network whose call letters describe its contents, has done numerous stories about what a great time this is to buy a home.

The CBS evening news did a story about a nurse in Phoenix who bought a five-bedroom, four-bath home and just gushed, “I would have never been able to afford a home like this before!” It is the telling of the good while ignoring the bad. “There’s never been a better time to upgrade your cabin on the Titanic! Fly the Hindenburg, now with a smoking section!" It is a media to misinform, to misdirect; it is dark and it is ugly because while the event may be true, the story is not.

We are fighting two wars; the war in Iraq was based on lies and we know that. But Friday on C-spin (a service of the cable and satellite industry) Mona Charen explained to viewers, “What lies? President Bush used the best intelligence available and the Democrats all agreed with him.” Except Ms. Charen neglects to add that the Democrats were given only selected intelligence directed by the White House.

The President promised to end the Iraq war and claims to have kept his promise, but fifty thousand troops will remain behind. We continue to pay out hundreds of thousands of dollars each month to Iraqi tribal warlords as hush money. Shall we pay this forever? Has the peace been won or has the silence merely been purchased?

The war in Afghanistan is even more confusing; we originally attacked Afghanistan because the Taliban would not give up Osama bin Laden. The Taliban answered that they didn’t know where he was but wouldn’t give him up even if they did because they wanted to see the charges against him. Where are the charges against him? Why, if he was the mastermind behind 9-11 and was the head of Al-Qaeda, hasn’t he been charged?

What are we fighting for in Afghanistan? How will we know when we’ve won? The war now bleeds over into Pakistani tribal areas, areas that have long been the bastion of the Pakistani intelligence service. These are the same intelligence services which were instrumental in bringing the Taliban to power in Afghanistan in the first place. The bombings and incursions in the tribal areas cause the tumult to move as if squeezed from a tube. It makes clear the fallacy of the war on terror; it is as foolish as a war on anger.

We/they are fighting for territory against an idea. There are no checkpoints which can stop an idea. There are no stealth bombers or patrols which can eradicate an idea, so as we gain ground we lose territory. Our presence in their land legitimizes our enemy’s arguments and each civilian casualty brings new recruits to the other side. I am old enough to remember Vietnam and the adage "ARVN by day, Cong by night."

Once again we are fighting a war without goals, without objectives. A war where once again the weapons our adversaries carry were first purchased by us. A war that was lost through fraud, waste, corruption, and dare I say it, complicity? To the media it is all about good guys and bad guys. President Obama goes to Cairo to make a speech about democracy in a police state. He quotes the Koran and promises a new beginning provided the Arabs do as they are told. The President promised a new beginning in this country and so far it's been more of the same.

This just in from the Fox website: “The Stimulus Isn’t Working, No Matter What He Says; ACLU Removes Ten Commandments From Another Courthouse; Rev. Wright Says, Obama Like My Child; Condom Cards Given to Teens, and finally the big story, Jon Stewart: Fox Newsers ‘Extremists’ Who View The World Through Sh*t Colored Glasses."

In 1939 when the Nazis invaded Poland, they put into effect a media blitz that claimed the Germans never wanted war with Poland. The expressed their love for Poland and pointed to past friendly relations. It was the Jews that wanted the war, not the Germans or the Poles. With complete control of the media it became the majority opinion in Warsaw within ninety days.
