Minnesota Congresswoman, Michele Bachmann made a statement that carbon dioxide is a natural and harmless gas on the floor of the House of Representatives in Congress on Earth day. She said there aren't any studies that show the gas to be harmful and to add credence to her mistaken claim, she stated that carbon dioxide makes up only "3% of the atmosphere" we breathe.

If Bachmann isn't convinced by reading about carbon dioxide in an encyclopedia, she could just put a plastic bag over her head to find out whether or not carbon dioxide is harmful to humans. But please, Ms. Bachmann, read about carbon dioxide and its harmful properties instead.

28. Beyond stupid

Bachmann apparently knows nothing about neuromuscular diseases. One of the problems is waking up sometimes with a raging migraine due to the effect of carbon dioxide not being released properly while sleeping or worse effects. I spent 40 years with an undiagnosed neuromuscular disease and this was one of the problems I had. Unfortunately I didn't know then that I needed to get up instead of staying in bed lying down to try and get rid of migraine which of course only made it even worse.

Some people aren't the brightest bulbs around but Bachmann certainly is in a select category of the embarrassing and scary stupid especially as she is in Congress.
