Andrea Johnson: Kerry machine won't tolerate a challenger
Andrea Johnson

March 25, 2004 JOHNSON0325

Tonight the Democratic National Committee is holding a Unity Dinner honoring John Kerry. Former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton will be there, as well as all of the presidential candidates. Except one.

Dennis Kucinich.

In a blaze of star-spangled irony, Kucinich was "not invited," according to the Washington Post, or uninvited, according to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) media relations department, because he has not taken himself out of the race for presidency.

"But there is no way Dennis will win the presidency," I explain to a DNC representative. "He just wants the issues that are important to your constituency to remain on the forefront -- withdrawing the occupation, universal, nonprofit health care, and withdrawing from trade agreements, NAFTA and the WTO, that hurt working people."

No matter, was the response. Dennis is divisive. He shouldn't be campaigning.

2. Once again, Kerry is being an asshole
Edited on Thu Mar-25-04 08:53 AM by seventhson
He is our asshole. But he stinks.

We MUST stay on his case about these things.

Alienating the Kucinich supporters and dissing Kucinich is the SUREST way to lose the 2-4% of voters who STILL really believe in DK (and the number of Dems is probably closer to 25-30% if we thought DK had a chance of winning because more agree with DK's proposed policies than Kerry) abd to vindicate Nader and ultimately LOSE this election.

He is dead wrong and elitistly pigheaded on this.

Jeesh are Kerry's handlers absolutely stupid or what?

I'm pissed. This is Kerry's second MAJOR gaffe IMHO after the dissing of Chavez and the newly elected Spanish Prez.

asshole. I cannot say it often enough: asshole, asshole, asshole. asshole.

KERRY. KERRY SUPPORTERS: KERRY IS slipping IN THE POLLS. He needs to retain his base NOT give us the middle finger.

STAY on him to do the right things and quit PANDERING to the right.

If the 5-10 per cent of us who MIGHT vote for Kerry if he stays cool stay home while he is pandering to right-wing twits on the right and center-right = then he is GOING TO LOSE.

WAKE UP, Kerry! This is a NEW AMERICA!

WE WANT CHANGE NOT MORE OF THE SAME!!!

4. Kerry MUST be held to the fire of the passion on the left
If not he will lose.

we do NOT need a Bush-lite

we need a champion of the left/ Kerry is just too damn politically contrived to see it or else he is just too much of an elitist to care.

If the latter is the case he will LOSE a lot of votes and LOSE the election.

Come BACK John Kerry.

we NEED you.

REACH OUT TO DENNIS KUCINICH! Or you will lose millions of us.

5. millions of you?
Try less than one million..... Kucinich needs to give up the ghost. If he thinks he's doing his issues a favor by still campaigning, he's got another thing coming. No one is listening anymore and they view him as a nutcase that can't add.
