I am very careful not to speculate. What I do is begin with the curious fact that G.H.W. Bush has said he could not remember where he was on November 22, 1963. That makes him just about the only adult alive at the time who has that memory defect.

BuzzFlash has often said that "conspiracy theories" exist because a threshold of people believe that the official version of an event or personal history does not pass the believability test. But then the fun begins, because theories are just that, so you become an advocate of one perspective or the other, hopefully based on the strength of the argument and the backing of documentation. But that becomes more difficult as time passes and access to the unofficial version of events becomes more difficult.

Russ Baker has assembled the case to be made for the dark underside of the Bush dynasty, sort of a corrupt patrician elitist mob that relocated from New England to Texas (and Florida).

Everyone sees Barbara Bush as this sweet little old lady at this point but those who have dealt with her know she is sometimes not so sweet.

The media in Washington will never admit it but they feared her and her wrath. Supposedly, as in tread carefully with truth, George was involved in an auto accident in Washington one night when his girlfriend got him a little excited and he rear-ended someone. The person he rear-ended didn't recognize him but the DC police who did also realized he had been drinking. So to protect him they whisked him off to a police station and they called the White House. Which in turn contacted Alexander Haig. Who was having dinner with several people including Nancy Reagan. Who in turn hit auto-dial when she got back to the White House. Everything was covered up but someone with the Washington Post caught wind of it. And called the Bush residence the following morning. And was told by Barbara that George had been home with her all evening. And that, as they say, was the end of that.

As for the assassination part of the conspiracy theory involves investments by Prescott Bush that he lost when Castro nationalized everything. The Bay of Pigs was to free Cuba. But also free the investments. But the real problem was Vietnam. Despite statements by quite a few to the contrary, apparently Kennedy was considering ending the "engagement" in Vietnam. And one of the reasons why may have been he realized, as a result of the Bay of Pigs, the involvement of the Bushes and their CIA, and it was their CIA, in promoting the war. In promoting a "military-industrial complex" that Eisenhower had warned everyone about before he left office.

In reality, the Bushes don't care about the conspirary theories or the "supposedlys" or even the occasional truth that manages to surface.

They are like the Borgias. They control everything.
