As political commentary, it’s on approximately the seventh-grade level. How could anybody who’d observed the Clintons over time not grasp that whatever their faults, they are professional politicians entirely capable of dealing with personal disappointment and moving on ? That both Clintons would campaign vigorously for Obama was as predictable as sunrise. If nothing else, their own futures, never mind the nation’s well-being, demanded it.

Yet no sooner did Hillary Clinton’s impending nomination make the news than the same crackpot cohort began vending new conspiracy theories.

“Why would he pick her ?” bellowed Chris Matthews on “Hardball.” “ I thought we were done with the Clintons. She’ll just use it to build her power base. It’s Machiavellian. Then we’ll have Bill Clinton, too. I thought Obama didn’t want drama.... She’s just a soap opera. If he doesn’t pick her, everyone will say she’s been dissed again, we’ll have to live through that again. ”

What happened to Obama’s promises of “change,” outraged pundits demanded. How could Hillary Clinton represent change ? Geez, I dunno, quite a switch from Dick Cheney and Condi Rice, I’d think.

..I believe are doomed to die with their condition. Even Lyon's logical, and easy to understand words will go through a neural process half the population considered normal prior to this election.

This quote is another story. If people can come to grips with their disappointment that necks weren't broken because of the high speed 90 degree turn to the left, the obvious should start to sink in. I think "the people", of which DU is a small part, want to take five before heading head first into another ideological shift. They just went through that, and now, after only eight years it's over. The repugs shoved chunks of their ideology down everyone's throat laced with fear, which can only result in failure after a short while. People get sick of the shit sooner or later. If progressives take the opposite tact, and take the people out on a few dates before jumping them, it has a lot better chance of developing into something that could survive generations. Obama is one hell of a good start, and he's making a favorable impression. I just hate to see his dates with the people spoiled by the loud, and opinionated "third wheel". See how it goes for awhile. Could end up being a beautiful thing. Thanks.
