The GOP standard-bearers lost, and lost dishonorably, as their grumpy and shrill campaign of "the old man and the she" degenerated into a farcical "Dumb and Dumber and Joe the Plumber" crusade that tried to paint Obama as a "socialist too risky and too radical" to be president of "the real America" ...
Obama promises change, but in a way his election is symbolic of the same old story: A black guy has been called in to clean up the party mess left behind by a dissolute gang of aging frat boys.
The anti-war movement was the base of Obama's campaign, and now more than ever, the movement needs to gather its forces and hold Obama to his promise of ending the Iraq war. On Jan. 20, when Obama rides or walks to the White House, Pennsylvania Avenue should be lined with anti-war protesters as a reminder to the new president that the economy will continue to drop as long as the war drags on ...
