Sen. McCain Open to Being Kerry's VP
Chief of Staff Closes Door on Idea

(snip)
"John Kerry is a close friend of mine. We have been friends for years," McCain said Wednesday when pressed to squelch speculation about a Kerry-McCain ticket. "Obviously I would entertain it."

4. What utter garbage.
Kerry can't run with someone who is anti-abortion. And he cannot run with a Republican.

Would Mr. McCain care to repudiate his party?

9. If Kerry runs with McCain and wins, the Rethugs can assassinate Kerry and
thereby come back to power. Because McCain is a Republican thru-and-thru...

The way you keep from being assassinated is to choose a VP that the Rethugs/rich/defense contractors do NOT want to make president. Which is why Clinton was wise to choose Al Gore.

12. McCain is a rigid explosive personality
...from the far right. He is absolutely unqualified for higher office.

13. You don't put a Republican on a democratic presidential ticket...
Not even somebody like Lincoln Chafee. The speculation is interesting but it won't happen.
