Bring back the America we know and love
I do find however here in AZ when talking to older republicans they seem to turn off and not want to know about any of this.
It's like they don't want to believe that their world and party may have changed but not for the better.
A stock response from them seems "If you don't like this country leave"

The problem is that we us LOVE this country and want to make it better for everyone.

We think it's ok to become rich through ones own effort (without ripping off people)
We think that people should be looked after when they are ill or young or old.
We think it would be nice to drive on safe roads, bridges, and highways.
We think that WAR is not the answer to everything although sometimes if attacked we have to defend ourselves
We think that 800 military bases all over the globe is....why to help corporations sell stuff?
We think that one less bomber is ok so the money could replace all the textbooks in every school in the USA
We think that it's ok for the Government to have reasonable rules and oversight to protect the consumer
We think that American jobs should be a number one priority
We think that "Due Process" is ok and should be reinstated for all people (even criminals who bomb stuff)
We think indefinite detention without trial is simply wrong
We think torture is wrong

And that is only some of the stuff we believe in.
These things are not left wing they are the old America that I was brought up in. The decent honest hard working America I remember.
Sure some things still need to be improved but as Americans we are the most innovative people in the world with a can do attitude and together we can rid ourselves of this Neocon cancer that has taken this country by the neck and is slowly killing us.

1. That's the unseen damage the Bushites can't perceive
I'm 48 years old. I grew up with an idea of my country that was basic and good. While it was deeply flawed (via the Reich wing) it was not without its strong ethical center. Bush not only obliterated our faith in our institutions, but he severely damaged our sense of self as a people -- which, I think, was his whole point for doing what he did. I don't think they realize the degree of harm this has done and that Americans (and all nationals) will not simply reinvent ourselves in some globalist dreamworld.

3. Blind devotion is SO extra special...
when the hue and cry beckons back "the America we know and love," an America built on stolen wealth and genocide!
Helllooo, take a glance at the news, the America you know and love is alive, well and still operating on first principles!

4. I agree this country is headed down the wrong path
and has swayed far from what the founding fathers layed out for this country. I can't just blame neocons for what they did because too many dems gave their blessings to them and have adopted their ways. Dems are condoning a Wall Street bailout? Gee, so much for the little people who lost their homes that could've been helped and that would've had the effect of helping the mortgage companies from going under as fewer would be in default. Recession rather than depression would've been the case and it hasn't hit full force as of yet so brace yourself. So few are actually serving the people and their country in this government and this party suppresses their own that are doing right by us like DK. You and I no longer matter to them as it is of and by the rich and powerful(corporate) that make up an elite class that many dems seem to now belong to. Why else would pelosi and many other dems protect bush's ass and support this farce of a war while allowing tortures as well as infringements and violations on our rights? We have seen the likes of zell miller and even LIEberman. This isn't the democratic party I knew as it is no longer functioning in the people's, aka the country's, best interests.
Dean take note, Straighten up and fly right or I find another party and it won't be republican either as they were the first to sell out the people. And don't think I'm the only dem pissed off as there are many.
