In Meeting, Kerry Emphasizes His Strong Support of Israel
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/03/01/politics/campaign/01KERR.html

enator John Kerry told dozens of Jewish leaders in New York on Sunday that he would continue the Bush administration policy of vetoing any United Nations Security Council resolutions seen as one-sided against Israel, participants in a closed 90-minute meeting said.

At the meeting, attended by the heads of major Jewish groups and Jewish politicians, he also repeated what he said in the televised debate earlier on Sunday: that the barrier Israel is erecting to separate Palestinian territories from Israeli ones is a fence, not a wall.

Mr. Kerry noted that if elected he would be the first president with a Jewish heritage and a Jewish relative, people at the meeting said. His brother, Cameron, who also attended, converted to Judaism. His paternal grandparents were Jews who converted to Roman Catholicism in fleeing Europe.

Well, one things confirmed not to change if Kerry is elected.
At least Clinton was "middle of the road" between the Palestinians
and the Israelis.

2. Killing two birds with one stone...
The X-tian voters will also be happy to hear this-
Looks to me like the situation has been happily
sewn up by the "Christian" Coalition and corporate multi-nationals.
They win either way!
40,000 more troops to Iraq too!
Isn't that the number of addtional young men and women
John wants to send into the shooting gallery?
Was he really in Nam? Does he actually not remember the
fact that NO army has ever defeated a guerilla army?
Is he willing to send our young people there knowing
that many will not come home, and the end result will
most likely look a lot like Vietnam?
I do NOT understand how a Nam Vet could endorse
this illegal and UNjust war. He has been in a similar
situation and yet would send MORE of our troops there?
I DO NOT understand how he could even consider such a thing.

I am so relieved to know that the more things change,
the more they will stay the same.
I can stop hoping and finally resign to the fact that the next
four years the US will "stay the course" no matter who wins
the election.
