Records about Todd Palin's coworker unavalable in Alaska
This is not a story touting the National Enquirer story about Sarah Palin and her family life. It is about the sudden move by Todd Palin’s coworker, Scott Richter, to seal the records of his divorce. It is also about how the record of Richter’s emergency motion are, oddly, no longer available on the internet. Enquiring minds want to know.

1. I'm not interested in dirt....
I'm just not. I enjoy the theatre as much as the next person but co-workers divorce as political fodder is equal to swiftboat/bush to me....I want political red-meat, leadership and to all that it implies. My next President should have not win on the whims of grapevine gossip.

2. In the abstract I agree
But then I remember that we didn't fight dirty in 2000 and then, magically, 9/11 happened and then Iraq happened and then I was holding a crying mother in my arms when her son was blown up by an IED.

And I won't feel very well if we play nicely and lose quietly and the Insane-Bull Moose ticket starts WW III.

4. Most Americans are...
which keeps the media focused on this repugnant woman.

Good thing, too- since the Obama campaign has shown little inclination to do so themselves.

8. Well, we finally agree about something...
It is always a pleasure, though.

3. They're still there.
http://www.courtrecords.alaska.gov/pa/pa.urd/pamw2000.docket_lst?68762762

The site was down briefly because it got FLOODED with traffic after the report he had tried to seal the records broke, but it came back up and it's still all listed. It's not some sinister conspiracy, it's the joys of a low traffic public records server in Alaska suddenly finding itself the center of attention for the media of the entire nation all at once. It was fairly obvious what happened.

5. The article mentions that as an explanation
Here's a list of motions Richeter brought to the court and when. There were no motions for four months until Palin was nominated. Then he asked for, but was denied, sealing the records.
