MSM got leap frogged by Obama's 3am text

Chris Mathews offered the epitome of DC press self importance on Wednesday when he offered a spittle-infused explanation of how Thursday was the perfect PERFECT time for Obama to announce his VP. One has to think that even Mathews was aware that this announcement was not to the DC press but to the public, well anyone but Mathews that is. He explained that all of the Sunday op/ed pieces were being written for a Thursday deadline and all of the Sunday talk shows were lining up guests (they have different ones?) so they HAD TO announce on Thursday.

As I look through my local rag's op/ed pages I see none of the punditry oh-so-valuable analysis. Seems they will be talking about this while everyone is watching the convention.

I am sure the Sunday talk shows will discuss it but this is on very short notice. The cocktail parties (in groups or alone as many of the punditry clearly "enjoy") were probably muted last night as there was not the normal time convention required to come up with the groupthink talking points. Yes the RNC has ready made blather but that has to be posted on Drudge before it is deemed acceptable for regurgitation.
