HURUMA, Kenya (CNN) -- We found Barack Obama's half-brother living in a Nairobi slum.

George Obama, whose birth certificate shows that he is Barack Obama's half-brother, lives in a small house in Huruma that he shares with his mother's extended family, far away from the presidential campaign circus.

But reports surfaced in the past few days, springing from an Italian Vanity Fair article saying George Obama is living in a shack and "earning less than a dollar a day."

The reports left him angry.

"I was brought up well. I live well even now," he said. "The magazines, they have exaggerated everything.

"I think I kind of like it here. There are some challenges, but maybe it is just like where you come from, there are the same challenges," Obama said.

1. He may be Obama's half brother, but they really don't know one another.

They didn't grow up together.. they just share the same genes.. and the West assuming that George is somehow lacking because he doesn't live in a mansion, is their problem, not his.

2. I lived in a mud hut Kenya for a while

with families who were poor, but very deliberate in their effort to stay afloat. keep the family fed, get the kids educated and slowly see an improvement in their life style.

One thing that struck me most clearly was that even people with the most dignity could be portrayed in pictures or stories as seeming desperately poor -- because the camera takes an image out of context. The context of life in Kenya as I experienced it was rich and full of hope, vital connections to friends and family, and full of laughter and stories.

There is so much in that culture which we need in this society. It's ashame that so little of this gets brought back to the US.

13. I arrived as a volunteer worker and stayed on to teach

high school biology, english, world history and religion. It was do-able because classes are taught in English-- but teaching people in a language not there own is a real recipe for oppression. I decided to leave after a half year.

to Cindy McCain's telling that she was an only child, even though she has two poorer half-sisters that did not receive a big ass inheritance like she did. The Fascist wanted to make George Obama look like he was neglected by is richer brother Barack. The Republican Fascist Suck So BAD!
