A majority wants Norwegian soldiers deployed in Iraq to return home, according to a new pull. One in four said the soldiers should remain in Iraq.

42.2 percent of the people asked said the Norwegian force in Iraq should be withdrawn, according to a pull conducted by Sentio-Norstat on behalf of the Norwegian paper Klassekampen. 27.5 percent of the people asked said the Norwegian soldiers should continue their mission in Iraq, while as many as 30.2 percent had no opinion on the matter whatsoever.

The resistance against Norway’s deployment in Iraq is most prominent among people over the age of 50, where 51 percent said that Norway should pull out the force of about 150 soldiers. Among the people over 40, 46 percent said the Norwegian soldiers ought to return home.
