Every winter at about this time, Floridians experience a creeping onset of dread and despair.

Darkness will soon be upon us. The Legislature is preparing to convene in Tallahassee.

This year, the ritual circus of greed, deceit and harlotry won't be quite so merry, as an ugly ethical issue must be openly addressed.

Legislators are smarting from reports in The St. Petersburg Times detailing how campaign finance laws have been subverted in a way that allows virtually unlimited contributions from special interests.

4. I'm very glad Carl Hiaasen wrote this

I'm a fan of his, but reading this makes my head spin. Why why why do Floridians keep vothing these people in. I'm the wife of a native Floridian and it just makes me want to cry.
