'May Bush meet Saddam's fate'
MUMBAI: Writer Arundhati Roy, who wants an ongoing anti-globalisation conference to launch a campaign to shut down US companies, said Sunday she hoped President George W Bush would share the fate of the captured Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.

"If Saddam Hussein deserves to be humiliated and have his fillings counted and his hair checked for lice on primetime TV, then so does George Bush," Roy told about 100 people at a leftist convention on the sidelines of the World Social Forum.

snip..

Roy is also taking part in the World Social Forum, which she co-inaugurated Friday with a call for the 100,000 anti-globalisation activists to pick two US companies engaged in the Iraq war and launch a campaign to shut them down.

1. I think the headline should be...
"Why is it * has mannaged not to meet Sadaam's fate?"

He will never be punished, just like his father will never be punished. I know this has become cliche, but we live in an unjust world. I hate to sound so pessimitic but, no matter what we do the rich will always be rich, and the poor will always be enslaved by them. Thats just the way the world works.

6. Ah, but there will be a Judgement
and a great prophet once said "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven."

2. Frankly, I'm hoping it will be a little more painful for Bush.
He deserves the best our justice system has to offer.

4. Which companies?
She mentions Bechtel as a possibility. The sooner
people know the sooner it can begin.

There are a few other articles of interest in
that paper.

5. I hope they have puppets.
That always works. Maybe the Indian woman would address the loss of our jobs.
Or maybe the treatment of women in India. or the caste system.
Busybodies need to fix it at home first.
