Shays: Gonzales “would do us a favor if he stepped down”
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2007/07/29/shays-gonzales-would-do-us-a-favor-if-he-stepped-down/

WASHINGTON (CNN)–Another Republican Congressman has spoken out against Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. Rep. Chris Shays (R - Connecticut) said today on Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer, “He doesn’t have much credibility. And he would do us all a favor if he stepped down and allowed the president to select someone else. You need to be truthful to Congress. You can’t be inaccurate so often. Finally, there just builds up this incredible credibility gap.”

Shays is the latest in a series of Republicans to suggest Gonzales should step down from his post. The Attorney General has come under fire for the firing of U.S. attorneys, which critics say happened for political reasons.

–CNN Associate Producer Jennifer Burch

AS WITH MOST OTHER TWO-WAY STREETS, BUSHCO HAS SHUT DOWN THE SIDE WHERE HE'S SUPPOSED TO RECIPROCATE.
BUSH DOES NO ONE ANY FAVORS. WHEN HE TRIES (INVADING IRAQ AS A SAUDI PROXY) HE TOTALLY BOTCHES IT ANYWAY, SO THAT'S NOT A NEGATIVE THING....

1. Another Republican who fails to see the enormity of the situation.
Gonzales can't simply "step down."

Don't they get it? Their country has been taken over by a gang of thugs that took over their party. The mafia, in essence, is running the Republican Party and through it, the country.

The Republicans who don't get this infuriate me. I'm almost angrier with them than I am with the ones who are in on it.

6. I think they do ALL get it. Repukes like shays and spector are just
saying they want fredo to resign because they know that he won't and that bush would never allow it. It's easy to say you want something that you know will never happen. You test their veracity the minute you ask if they would support a special prosecutor or impeachment. Then it's all up to the president. <wink wink> :puke:

2. Hey, Shays, if you want him out
then introduce articles of impeachment against Gonzo. You're a Congressman. You have the power to hold the Pretzeldent and his people accountable, if you only use it.

3. Let's face it, gonzo is staying around to keep our eyes off...
... bigger targets which are worse than than what he conjures up. The scandals and war in Iraq spring first to mind. What others can be identified? You get the picture.
