Preamble 2007



The Preamble to the United States Constitution is basically a single sentence introduction to our ‘law of the land’.

“We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty, to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”




My 2007 parody of The Preamble:

“We the wealthy, power players of the United States, in order to form more corporations abroad, establish Imperialism, insure tax breaks for the upper class, provide materialistic and capital gain to the rich, promote general public apathy, secure these foreign lands under the guise of democracy, with the blood of our nation’s military powers, to the wealthy and their prosperity, do disregard the former law and re-establish our own version of the Constitution for the United States.”

Some thoughts and questions:

* Where are our elected officials leading us?
* The War in Iraq has not established peace for anyone! Is there really an ‘exit strategy’?
* Our President wants funding to rebuild Iraq, but yet here in the U.S., hurricane-ravaged areas are still in total disarray.
* What’s in store for the future of our American children?
