Anderson is British, but I'm an American and I, too, am dismayed by the display of flags, stickers, decals, hats, T-shirts, and a host of other paraphernalia on virtually every person, vehicle, and building in America. Not because I'm unpatriotic, but because of what this commercialized flag-waving has come to represent. It trivializes our flag to the point that it now has about the same relevance as an orange, Styrofoam antenna ball.
