http://www.firstfreedomfirst.org/Dear Friend of First Freedom First,
First Freedom First is excited to be endorsed by political cartoonist Mike Keefe. Stepping up to support the separation of church and state, Keefe now stands with influential Americans like Walter Cronkite, Phil Donahue, and people like you who understand the importance of protecting Religious Liberty.
Below, Keefe captures the issue of Academic Integrity in public schools with a depiction of the Kansas Board of Education's widely-replicated efforts to teach religion as science in the public school classroom. For more on the issue and a link to the cartoon, take a look at our Academic Integrity page.
If you'd like, you can also check out Keefe's cartoon on our blog at First Freedom First's MySpace page.
By throwing himself into auto assembly line work, the United States Marines and graduate school in mathematics, Mike Keefe desperately hoped to suppress his secret nature. But then, in an unguarded moment during Watergate, he found himself drawn to Richard Nixon's nose. He's been out of the closet and cartooning ever since.
Keefe has been the editorial cartoonist for The Denver Post since 1975. Throughout the nineties he was a weekly contributor to USA Today and a regular on America Online. Nationally syndicated, his cartoons have appeared in Europe, Asia and in most major U.S. news magazines and hundreds of newspapers across the country.
If you know someone who might enjoy the cartoon or would like to help support the separation of church and state and protect religious liberty, please, encourage them to visit the First Freedom First website and sign the petition! While Keefe's cartons are funny, First Freedom First isn't laughing at the numerous attempts across America to bring religion into the publicly funded science classroom.
Protecting religious freedom depends on people like you, and we appreciate your support!
All the Best,
The First Freedom First Team
