My Local Paper Compares VT Massacre To 9-11
Here's a bit of it.

It could happen anywhere ...

The sheer number of dead in what has been dubbed "the Virginia Tech massacre" defies comprehension, even as we search for an answer to the inevitable question: Why?

What could possibly drive one person to kill 32 people and then himself? We'll probably never know the real answer, even though the deadliest shooting rampage in modern U.S. history will be explored and reported from every conceivable angle.

<snip>

and the most offensive part....

The extent of the Virginia Tech attacks by this lone domestic terrorist boggles the mind and, like the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, D.C., shatters the notion that "it couldn't happen here."

Such attacks can happen. And about all that can be done to deal with the potential is to increase awareness, sharpen security and quickly overreact to even perceived threats.

The nation mourns the Virginia Tech tragedy. An even greater tragedy would be if we didn't learn from it.

the local here has always been nothing more than a conservative mouthpiece. last election cycle, they were the only paper in the entire state to endorse Mike McGavick. I think we'll be seeing more of this popping up in which conservatives use the VT massacre, perpetrated by one lone psychotic, to justify the bush regime's attacks on this country. I think it may be time to start showing conservatives some gun violence back, like Malcolm X said, by whatever means necessary.
