Democrats' 100-hour blitz fosters animosity
January 9, 2007

WASHINGTON – For their first press conference on the Republican Agenda, GOP leaders chose a room filled with portraits of Democratic presidents.

And so, under the watchful eye of JFK and Harry Truman and Franklin Roosevelt, the Republicans complained about the way they’re being treated by Democrats.

Which happens to be exactly the way they treated Democrats for the past 12 years.

Indeed, in the new Congress, the Republicans have little more than a microphone. They will complain. They will whine. They will lose most votes.

Welcome to life in the minority.

 You know what they say about payback.

17. Hehe.
I kinda feel sorry for them. But then again I can afford that luxury at this juncture.

Granted, some of them thought stolen elections would carry the day for them, but do you think they'll learn anything from this, or will they keep blaming everyone else?

Without power, it will be so difficult for them to carry out their crimes on the scale so long dreamed of. What happens to a dream deferred? poor li'l pubbies.

OK, OK! so call me little MISTER Schadenfreude.

2. Great article. It tears your heart out knowing how they're suffering. Ha.
If they could get back in charge they'd be running right over Democrats and treating them like trash exactly as they did all the way up to a few days ago.

Who will EVER forget the way they ran right over Democratic Congresspeople for YEARS? They have absolutely no room to bitch here. They are still the monsters they were last month.

12. But the difference is that they ran roughshod over the
Dems to push through legislation that the people did not want. The Dems are holding off the Republican obstructionists in order to pass legislation that the people not only want but have been clamoring for for years.

The Repub's whining over such legislation is not going to make them look good to the electorate.

3. boo fricken hoo
So, whine and complain, and do all they can to obstruct any legislation that might hurt their base.
How they continue to get elected is beyond me.

4. I'd be tempted to tell them to shut up...
or the 100 hours will be adjusted upwards to 1000 (and given how Congress works, that might take a couple of years?)

13. It's like the old story of the guy who lost his car in a race...
After losing the pink slip to his competitor, the loser gets pissed off because the new owner repainted it.

Whooooopssss!!!

Hey repukes, suck eggs! you now belong to the world of the pottery barn rules, ala colin, ass for name, powell, you broke it, but unlike the pottery barn, and like many times in the past, it takes Democrats to fix it. Now move along and go play with your blocks, the adults are in charge now.

Oh and one more thing, eat shit. :)

On a side note, the repukes in my office have been mysteriously quiet lately, funny how that works. lol

14. Well, if they're not making people uncomfortable in Washington, they
wouldn't be doing their jobs. Thank you Dem Congressmen and women for being strong enough to take the heat!
