The truth about Ahmadinejad - Iran - and the "Devil" Bush
At the end of my post is a revealing news article explaining how Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is just a figure head.

Americans are always being told how dangerous Ahmadinejad is, but in all honesty, it’s Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei who holds the power in Iran and makes all their decisions when it comes to war.

According to the article, back in 2003 The Ayatollah Khamenei tried to reach out to the Bush administration through the Swiss embassy and said, “Look, we would like to normalize relations with the United States. We’d like to initiate a process that leads to a peace treaty between ISRAEL and IRAN".

1. Ahmadinejad is a talking head.
A spokesperson. He is an effective one with the audience he is meant to address, and that is why such effort is expended to keep us from listening to what he has to say; not so much so that WE will not hear his argument as that we will not know that he is successful with the audience he is addressing. (And yes, indeed, he does hate Israel.)

2. Ahmadinejad would not be in office were it not for Bush.
That "Axis of Evil" speech and unlawful invasion of Iraq led the Iranian population to believe they needed to fight fire with fire.

3. And maybe Iranians wanted someone who would do something about corruption.
So they voted for an honest man, a populist, who was willing to try to do something about it, taking a chance on his reputation as a cultural conservative and various idiosyncracies.

4. That was my impression.
He was elected for internal political reasons, as one would expect. Not that the Bushites didn't help him along by being belligerent.
