Disney, on the heels of its farcical mockudrama, The Path to 9/11, has now gone one step further in its aid and comfort to the Bush Administration: opening up a Water-Boarding Theme Park.
Called Terrorist Lagoon, the park will be devoted to aggressive interrogation techniques that are clearly in violation of the Geneva Convention. However, Disney contends that it is a sovereign state that has never signed the Geneva protocols, and is therefore exempt from these international standards of decency — a claim that is supported by Disney’s treatment of its own employees.
The Bush Administration is particularly pleased with this program, especially since the interrogators will be wearing the costumes of Mickey Mouse, Goofy and gang, thus mimimizing the chance of being identified as war criminals under the Geneva Convention.
