Sgt. 1st Class Merideth Howard, 52 (Oldest Female Casualty)
http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/09/12/SOLDIER.TMP

Military officials identified an Army reservist from Alameda on Monday as one of two soldiers who died Friday in Afghanistan when the humvee in which they were riding was hit by a suicidal car bomber.

Sgt. 1st Class Merideth Howard, 52, of Alameda, and Staff Sgt. Robert Paul, 43, of Oregon, died Friday when an explosive device in a car detonated near their vehicle in Kabul, the deadliest suicide attack in the Afghan capital since the fall of the Taliban following the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Both soldiers were assigned to the Army Reserve's 405th Civil Affairs Battalion in Fort Bragg, N.C.

Howard is the oldest female casualty of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to the most recent Department of Defense statistics. The next eldest were in their early 40s at the time of their deaths.

Yet W approved an Afghan Constitution that followed Sharia law and limited womens rights. She died to give lesser rights to her own gender. W's way.

2. What the hell is a 52 year old woman.........
DOING in a war zone? :grr: Is the state of our military is such dire straights that we have to resort to having men and women old enough to be grandparents on the front lines of Bush's war? :wtf:
Yet we're constantly assured by Rummy the Dummy that everything is AOK in the military, things have never benn better. :eyes:
This is sickening, just sickening. I feel so sorry for this poor woman's family. Her commander in thief bears her blood on his hands.
