athletic prowess and astonishing "growth package" sit at home in the WH? Or will he be playing poker with his frat boy friend and Ashton at Camp David or Crawford while "the girls" yuck it up in tents in that "undisclosed location.'

Give me a break!!! Where are her daughters. Doesn't one of them think it's nice to come home for a visit on Summer Break? What did the "Twins from Hell" give their Father for his Birthday.........Has the press even peeped to do a human interest story on them? Are they even alive?

At least Chelsea took trips with her Mom in the Summer........and learned something...........

2. She also plans to invite Truman Capote for a fabulous
symposium - will she use an Ouija board, or no one will dare tell her he's dead and they'll bring an impersonator to humor her?

3. But here's the real question re. the Capote get-together:
Will anyone whisper in her ear that old Truman was (*GASP*SHHHHHHHH!!!!!) . . . gay?

I, too, read her nauseating, pointless online "encounter" and I've never felt so keenly the loss of the two or three minutes it took for me to skim the surface of a small ocean of pap and puerile ooze.

5. Articles about "First Ladies" are generally nauseating and this

one is certainly no exception. They referred to Laura Bush as "the first librarian." Funny, I don't recall anyone ever calling Hillary Clinton "the first lawyer" or "the first attorney." Guess that shows first ladies should have pink-collar jobs. (Yes, I know there are male librarians, but the word "librarian" generally conjures up an image of a woman, as do the words "nurse" and "teacher.")

In an attempt to defuse controversy over Laura's appearance reading a children's book on CBS, and CBS's related suggestion that viewers shop at Amazon.com, with no mention of other booksellers or of patronizing libraries, the article omits an important part of the story. After the show, Laura's staffer returned the read-aloud-on-television-only-once book to the independent bookseller where she purchased it. Cheap, cheap, cheap! Did Laura know? Did Laura tell the staffer to return the book? We may never know, since the press doesn't care. Remember the hoopla when Hillary forgot to tip a waitress while she was campaigning for the Senate?
