Fascism is not the threat we're facing

Islamo-fascism is a word that's been getting a lot of use from President Bush's defenders as they defend his handling of the Iraq War.

There is no question that the ongoing jihad by militant Islamic fundamentalism against the West presents a grave threat to the security of many nations, including the United States.

And there may be no word in the contemporary political lexicon that better evokes the kind of momentous challenge this country can meet when we are united in purpose and led by capable leaders.

The president and his supporters who want to resurrect support for the war have an enormous task ahead of them.

They won't get there by twisting language to suit their political needs.

but not from Islamists. Just like Oklahoma City, our threat is home-grown.
