Bin Laden, Most Wanted For Embassy Bombings?
Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden is a longtime and prominent member of the FBI's "Ten Most Wanted" list, which notes his role as the suspected mastermind of the deadly U.S. embassy bombings in East Africa on Aug. 7, 1998.

But another more infamous date -- Sept. 11, 2001 -- is nowhere to be found on the same FBI notice.

The curious omission underscores the Justice Department's decision, so far, to not seek formal criminal charges against bin Laden for approving al-Qaeda's most notorious and successful terrorist attack. The notice says bin Laden is "a suspect in other terrorist attacks throughout the world" but does not provide details.

The absence has also provided fodder for conspiracy theorists who think the U.S. government or another power was behind the Sept. 11 hijackings. From this point of view, the lack of a Sept. 11 reference suggests that the connection to al-Qaeda is uncertain.

7. Your post serves no purpose except to ridicule those who ask questions
about what their government is up.

I hope you have the decency to remove it but I doubt that will happen.

10. My post serves no other purpose
then to try and inject a little humor into a topic that can get a little heavy a little quick, with very little verifiable information.

If you took it as ridicule, I'm sorry it was misunderstood.

Coincidentally, the wanted poster displayed by the FBI was revised 2 months after Sept. 11, with no explicit mention made of the event.

We're in the same camp here, I'm just perpetually ready to make an ass out of myself.

3. Thought bin Laden made a statement denying involvement in 9/11 attacks
and then there was a ginned up video of someone who kind of looked like OBL, but defintely wasn't him (was writing with right hand--OBL is left-handed, was wearing gold ring--forbidden by his religion to wear gold.)

4. Well, we were promised a white paper
The Bush administration, all huffery and puffery after September 11, promised in no uncertain terms that they would conclusively establish that Osama bin Laden was the arch-fiend behind the September 11 attacks. But other than the infamous "Fat Osama" videotape, the administration has yet to lay out a case for bin Laden's involvement in the September 11 attacks.

It seems indisputable that bin Laden has mentioned those attacks with approval, but as for actually being involved in their planning and execution, the evidence is still lacking.

Now, I don't know if this brief recitation of facts amounts to a conspiracy theory, but it is what I know to be true. I suppose if I spoke Arabic and had full access to all the Osama videos, I might have a better idea of what has been said and (more importantly) not said by bin Laden, but as far as taking this administration's word for anything . . . well, let's just say the Bushistas have earned a little public skepticism.

6. Questions:
1. Why hasn't actual criminal charges against Bin-Laden been filed?

2. Since Bin-Laden hasn't acutally been criminally charged - then why are we out to "git him", why are involved in TWO wars supposedly to get/stop him?

8. Osama Who? Why bother with him, he's not Iranian.
It was Osama who caused 9-11
I mean, it was Iraq behind 9-11
I mean, it was Iran behind 9-11

(Come back next year to see America's hottest new headline...)
I mean, it was Syria behind 9-11

(Followed up by the smash it!)

Venezuela has always been our greatest threat.

....We have always been at war with Eurasia, Winston Smith.
