But when America is fighting a global war on terror where the battle is for hearts and minds instead of beachheads and landing strips, we need a leader who can explain to friend and foe alike why America is in Iraq, why we keep sending arms to Israel and why liberal democracy really is preferable to Islamic fascism.

Right now, George W. Bush is not that leader.

Why? Yesterday he quipped as an aside words to the effect -"My kids are now left wing environmental wackos!" Gee, I bet that if I were one of his kids I'd make it a mission to get arrested at some near future protest.

his point is that bush IS a smart guy

but that he is not an ARTICULATE guy

that's his point. agree or not.

if you listen to the monologue his point is clear.

fwiw, i have never heard ANYBODY claim bush is an articulate speaker

joe's claim was that people confuse inarticulateness (is that word?) with stupidity
