Say it loud, say it often, 'Republicans are bad on national security'

This is one of the best essays I've read in very a long time.

Every Democrat running for national office - and local offices too, why not? - should say, "I'm running because Republicans are bad on national security."

Then they should go on to say, here's why I'm saying it:

1. 9/11 happened on their watch.

Of course, we can't say, absolutely, that it would not have happened if they had not been asleep at the wheel. But we can say that they did not do all they could have done to prevent it. We can say that Bush literally pushed away the warnings.

2. George Bush and the Republicans failed to get Osama bin Laden.

We got both Hitler and Hirohito in less time than we've been chasing bin Laden. Every day that bin Laden's out there, he's proof that you can attack the United States and get away with it. That's a bad message to send, and believe me, people in the terrorist world have heard it loud and clear. That's very bad for national security.

1. Yes! They SUCK on national security. 9/11, the anthrax attacks,

our ports, borders and freight are still unsecured.

Republicans TALK about national security, they just don't DO anything about it.

We are MUCH more at risk because they have done NOTHING to make us safe and EVERYTHING to make us hated.

2. You're right about local offices

In most states immigration is a huge issue and especially so in the border states. GOP state legislators are all about puffing out their chests and spewing Law-n-Order talking points while coddling companies who exploit the cheap labor.

3. Republicans are bad on national security; Republicans are bad on

national security, fiscal soundness, the Federal budget, the environment, the stock markets, the capitial markets, inflation, the value of the dollar, the economy, the jobs markets, civil rights, the life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness doctrine, this Republic including the land of the free and home the brave, sane drug policies, sane crime policies, unemployment, the standard of living, the Constitution, the separation of powers, privacy, fundamental protection under the Bill of Rights, transparency in government, openness in government, keeping politics out of governmental operations, military preparedness, social security, Medicare, Medicaid, the lock box, the rule of law, international order and goodwill, world opinion and goodwill, peace on earth, the fairness doctrine, the promote the general welfare doctrine, everything ever good about this Republic, honesty, fairness, justice, fair play, politicizing the Federal establishment. Refutation of any, all invited and if I'm mostly on target, just think what it makes of tens of millions of Amerikans who support the actions and policies of these rascals.
