Pat Buchanan has it right
Edited on Wed Aug-09-06 05:56 AM by bigdarryl
I listened to Buchanan on MSNBC talking to Monica Crowley whos covering for Imus and he seems to be the only one talking any sense on the Conn. senate race.He predicted Lieberman will take a second look at his running as a Independent.

17. "Broken clock"
Yeah, that's what the similar-minded folks at Free Republic call Buchanan too. Often. Trite. They should really think of some new slogans (if they could think). They would like Lieberman to now join the Republican Party, or become Bush's new, winning Secretary of Defense. "Broken clock" comment accords with William Kristol and Charles Krauthammer here, it's about their intellectual level. It's the battle of the pundits (including Pat Buchanan who has proved unsilenceable lo these many years) , and the winner is........... the ordinary American citizen. :nopity: The departure of Lieberman is going to be good for America and the Democratic Party. :kick:

19. I really don't care what freepers do.
And don't imply I am one.

What I do care about is supposedly "liberal" sites using an anti-Semite as a source! I bet he knows the world is round. I do too. We agree, but I will never use him as a source to back up my claims or take joy that a bigot and I share the same opinion; apparently that doesn't matter to some here!

2. Chris Matthews said similar on the Conn. NBC affiliate last night
He was a guest for an extended period and basically said that the dynamic in CT is that Lamont will get a bump from the victory and that when the Dem establishment bolts to support him, Lieberman will reconsider.

Granted, Tweety could change today or tonight.

5. Lieberman will run 'til the death - how else will anyone pay attention
to him?

Hasn't his descent into evil really been a case of an ego ran amok? No way could he leave Imus and Hardball and Cokie Roberts et al behind.

14. Yes, "ego run amok" --he couldn't BELIEVE he had to campaign in
a primary after three terms. He's in a complete snit. I've wondered, seriously, if HoJo has early onset dementia.

16. The "snit" is what started his meltdown
Lamont was a little known challenger when he first announced. Then, Colin McEnroe mentioned Lamont on the radio and how he would have to take a look at him. Lieberman promptly called up the show & had a hissy fit on the air, sounding hurt & indignant that Colin would even consider looking at another candidate.

20. Does anyone believe that Mr. Lieberman will NOT run as an I?
My bet is on quitting for health reasons and later changing to a full-blown Republican.

21. I agree with Pat Buchanan 60% of the time
He is right about NAFTA and globalization, and he is right about the Middle East (up to a point).

The problem with Pat is that 20% Nazi side of his, coupled with the other 20% religious wacko.
