Teen in Beirut 'very scared'
Sights and sounds of warfare 'very terrifying' to trapped girl
BY JENNIFER EDWARDS | ENQUIRER STAFF WRITER
WEST CHESTER TWP. -

Nada Abraham can't escape the sounds of bombs.

They explode constantly in Beirut, especially at night, waking her and the 11 relatives she is holed up with in her uncle's apartment, about 10 miles from the airport.

(snipping)

"I am so thankful to be here today, to talk to you. Before you called, about 10 minutes ago, there were three bombs. They were about five minutes away."

(snipping)

"I am very scared here," she said. "It's very terrifying. It's terrible just hearing even a bomb. I hear bombs every day. It's hard to speak at night, just terrible.

"I see ruined houses. I see little kids on the street with no parents. Their parents are probably dead or separated. I see people being dug from underneath rubble and boulders. I have seen kids sleeping in the road, in the grass. We saw people missing limbs."

3. Except those in Israel can still get out
In Israel the airports are still operational, the ports aren't blocked, the roads aren't bombed out, the bridges are still standing. The point is this kid is trapped in Lebanon with no way out.

8. She's received a life sentence
of PTSD. If she survives, she'll live her entire life jumping every time somebody drops something in her vicinity or a car backfires. Of course living in a bombed out shell of a country with very little hope of living with any reasonable standard quality of life is no picnic either.
