Shocking Poll on Americans' Views of 9/11
http://channels.isp.netscape.com/whatsnew/default.jsp?story=20060803-1337

Did U.S. government officials assist in the 9/11 terrorist attacks or at the very least took no action to stop them just so the United States could go to war in the Middle East? Fully 36 percent of Americans believe this is "very likely" or "somewhat likely," according to a new poll of 1,010 adults conducted by Scripps Howard/Ohio University.

The Scripps Howard News Service reports that 16 percent of Americans think the government secretly planted explosives in the World Trade Center to cause the Twin Towers to collapse and that they did not fall because two jetliners purposely plowed into them. In addition, fully 54 percent of those polled said they "personally are more angry" at the government than they used to be. "Widespread resentment and alienation toward the national government appears to be fueling a growing acceptance of conspiracy theories about the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon," write Scripps Howard reporters Thomas Hargrove and Guido H. Stempel III. Of those who believe the government is responsible for the 9/11 attacks, 70 percent say they are angrier with the government than they used to be. People who use the Internet are more likely to believe in a 9/11 conspiracy theory that involves the federal government.

1. what's amazing to me is that
so many people accept the 'official' narrative, despite the fact that it requires the suspension of common sense, chemistry and physics.

3. Predictable
Given how the Bush administration has elevated chronic lying about everything from global warming to Social Security "privatization" into an art form, is it any wonder people are increasingly distrustful of government?

If George Bush told me the sky was blue, I'd ask for a second opinion.

4. I was surprised by these two comments in People Mag 9/24/2001.
I was cleaning out old magazines and I found the September 24, 2001 People magazine. They had interviews with various people in NYC and the WTC builings on 9/11. I've been open minded about MIHOP or LIHOP, but these two comments jumped out at me and gave me goose bumps.

____, 51 , is assigned to Engine 47 in Harlem.
"We were the first ones in the second tower after the plane struck. I was taking firefighters up in the elevator to the 24th floor to get into position to evacuate workers. On the last trip up, a bomb went off. We think there were bombs set in the building. I had just asked another firefighter to stay with me, which was a good thing because we were trapped inside the elevator and he had the tools to get out."

(To be fair, there could have been things in the building exploding from the intense fire. I have no idea)

_____, 42, a financial analyst with the Fireman's Fund,, was coming out of the Chambers Street Station, headed for his office on the 47th floor of the south tower.
"How could they let this happen? They knew this building was a target. Over the past few weeks we'd been evacuated a number of times, which is unusual.I think they had an inkling something was going on."

I realize these are just opinions of people who were actually there that day and they are not proof of anything, but it does show that people were at least thinking things that the country didn't really start talking about until quite a while later.

Again, this is straight out of People Magazine, September 24th, 2001. I decided to leave out the names because I'm not sure if I should post these two paragraphs here or not. Just thought this was very interesting to read after 5 years of discussion.

6. I think 911 was a conspiracy. The theory is who, why and how.
