When 'mammon' is god

According to Ann Coulter, liberals are "godless." I'm really wondering what kind of god she must worship herself, to hurl such cruel insults at innocent, suffering 9/11 widows and their families. Offhand, I'd guess it's mammon – hoping for lots of sales of her book no matter who gets hurt.

The God I know, the God revealed in the Bible, has much different family values. He doesn't call widows and orphans "witches." He cares for them tenderly. Remember James 1:27? "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction." But maybe Coulter's translation adds a clause, "But only if they are rich, Republican and anti-American as I am."
