Sandwiched between talking heads spouting crap like "when we come back, Bush's celebrity critics are getting louder!," I just watched ABC News air a "Nightline" segment detailing the massacre in Haditha. I hope Crooks and Liars will have the full thing up shortly, but in the meantime, there's this--a basic transcript:
http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/story?id=2006497&page=1— Some of the Marines entered a cluster of nearby homes from where, they later claimed, they had taken enemy fire.
— In the first house, however, they allegedly found only unarmed civilians. Exactly what happened inside is unclear, but by the time they left, six of the civilians were killed, including a three year old boy.
— In a second house, the Marines allegedly found and killed 8 more unarmed civilians.
However, the segment I just viewed on TV mentioned that certain unnamed Marines involved in the incident(s) have--and I quote here--confessed.
I hope you're all keeping a list of Right-wing pundits who have been screaming that Murtha's a traitor over this.
I know I am.
