It is still clever propoganda the administration can point to when critisized for exporting pre emptive wars.
Perhaps it is even more clever than accusing one's opposition of the very crimes you committed yourself.
Shocking and awing as it is, it makes for riveting entertainment
like watching the Sopranos.
No matter how ruthless and evil Tony can be,
we know he is just taking care of his own.
With a vicarious thrill we virtually forgive them of their crimes
and wait to see the next episode.
In the ruthless Trillion dollar petro war games of the radical corporate right,
they will not hesitate to kill their own
and then turn around and martyr their fallen brother
blaming it on a conveinient enemy (with resources to steal).
So with mixed feeling I wish George well.
For if he is ever martyred...
the next boss and subsequent crack down could only be worse.
In America it often seems that more people root for the Sopranos, than the prosecutor.
