Note to Moronic Democratic Senators: Americans Can't Stand George Bush

<snip>

So, why oh why, would the opposition party not support this move to censure -- because they are worried about the effect it is going to have on centrist voters? Are you fucking nuts? George Bush is at 36%!!!!!!!! America can't stand him. They think he is incompetent, that he has blown Iraq and Katrina and Social Security and the budget and the economy. And you're worried that you are going to alienate centrist voters by coming out against him?

This is unjustifiable. Independent voters give the President a 27% approval rating -- that is stunningly low. It's hard to imagine that number being lower for any President at any time. What are you waiting for?!!!

How in the world would it alienate these centrist, independent voters to censure a President they cannot stand?

The Democrats for the 100th time in a row have bought into a nonsense Republican talking point: Centrist voters don't like to criticize the President in any way, after all, look at how it hurt the Republicans to try to impeach Bill Clinton.

1. Call your Senators and ask them this question...
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=2512789&mesg_id=2513289

And if anyone knows how to pass this on to Cenk and the Young Turks, please do so.

NGU.

2. I would rather risk losing everthing...
Standing up for what is right and for what I believe in than vote for something or not vote for something because I was afraid of offending someone.

4. It hurt pukes to impeach Clinton because Clinton was popular.
Bush is one of the most unpopular presidents in history. Hurting him politically helps those who do it.

5. It boggles the mind
that Democratic Senators are unable to read the numbers. Hey, if you need some help, come on over. I will take you step-by-step through an explanation of how 36% or 27% is not the kind of report card the Chimpster should be proud of. You, Senators, will be in the MAJORITY of American citizens if you stand up against the Chimp.

6. The problem is that this supine and servile attitude is not an accident,
nor is it the result of some misapprehension, but it is rather part of a charade of consensus designed to avert compliance with the will of the majority.

10. it is the corporate media
pounding out the rethug talking points about alienating the 'center'. Hey the rethugs screwed up the vendetta against Clinton, culminating w/ the sham mpeachment, because he was doing his job and the MAJORITY knew it. The MAJORITY knew what was behind the rethug impeachment of big dog even tho the corporate media went on and on and on about it - what was it Keith Olberman said during his CSPAN interview 238 straight nights and he was ready to pull his hair out after 50? The corporate media will keep pounding away @ alienation. If the Dems dance 2 that beat they are the spineless enablers we all know them 2 be. There is only one way thru this and that means it is all up to us! If raisin brain & the cabal are going 2 go, WE are going 2 have 2 demand our elected representatives actually represent us! WE have 2 break thru the beltway protection zone and introduce all of them 2 the real world that it going to hell in a handbasket. As long as they remain insulated in that little zone, WE are going 2 B ignored.
